Levi Bulkley is this month’s Employee Spotlight here at ImageAV. Levi has led an adventurous life taking him on a wild ride from GA to CO to pursue his philanthropic passions while having fun and learning to live life to its fullest along the way.
Are you originally from Colorado, if not, what brought you out here?
I’m originally from Atlanta, GA. I love my hometown and really never thought about leaving until fate stepped in. I was hit by a car in 2014 while riding home on my motorcycle. After months of surgery, rehabilitation and treatments, I re-evaluated my life and what I wanted to do, see and experience with the time I have left. The Mountains were calling me. There’s such a healthy environment here that just begs you to spend your time outdoors. There’s a much better riding experience out here than sitting in traffic just waiting to get nailed by an impatient driver. Life is beautiful, brilliant and bold in Colorado.
There is also a bit of family history here in Colorado. My grandfather grew up in Steamboat Springs. It’s not a coincidence that I chose to move here. The spirit of the west and the sense of adventure runs in my blood. Buckley Airforce Base was even named after a distant relative who fought in World War 1.
How do you recharge and relax outside of work?
I’m an avid motorcyclist. I love getting up in the mountains at every opportunity. During my time in Colorado I’ve ridden some of the best roads and seen the most amazing views I’ve ever witnessed in my life. Peak to Peak Highway, Pikes Peak, Independence Pass… These are all destinations that bikers from across the country travel long distances to see and I have them here so close at hand. It’s really such a treasure. I also enjoy bouldering and hiking. I love Scuba Diving too but there’s not much of that in Denver…
Best thing about living/working in Denver?
You can’t beat the incredible views and quick access to the mountains. I live just south of downtown and enjoy my close proximity to everything I could want. Great food, entertainment and the energy of a vibrant city yet I can be in the foothills in 20 minutes.
So what do you do at Image AV?
I am the National Sales Manager for Image Audiovisuals. I am a part of our sales team made up of other fantastic individuals, and I design productions and handle sales and contracting for national events.
Could you tell us your AV story, and how you have gotten to this point?
I handled national production, sales and production design for the largest Atlanta based production company. In the 2014 Allie Awards I received the Tim Lundy, CSEP Rising Star Award.
I served on several events committees from 2010 – 2014. My real passion was working with charity and nonprofit groups such as the American Cancer Society, The Epilepsy Foundation of GA, Grady Memorial Hospital, the Anti Defamation league, etc. It feels good to put your skills to work for things that make a difference.
What drew you to Image AV and make you passionate about working here?
I wanted to be a part of the best team in Colorado. I researched various event production companies in the area and came to the conclusion that there wasn’t a better team in Colorado to be a part of. Robin Sanders really gave me the vision for the future of the company and we had many discussions before I made the move to Colorado. His passion and ideas were inspiring and mirrored my own. I really sensed that this organization was going to be a good fit for me.
My team is very professional and do an exceptional job. The best aspect of this team is really the family environment. We’re a group of like-minded people who love doing great shows and enjoying life. A few of us ride together and having common interests really creates a comradery to experience life together outside of work. We’re a fun group to work with and everyone has their own story here. ImageAV is a place where people jump in and help each other out. There isn’t a “not my job” mentality here. Everyone pitches in to get the job done and it’s really a great team atmosphere.
