Colorado Convention Center Events to Attend

Some of the greatest events in the nation are hosted at the Colorado Convention Center. Big name comedians, bands, and wide-ranging expos offer something to enjoy for everyone. Whether you’re looking for entertainment, education, or simply want to experience a well-produced show, here are five events you won’t want to miss.

1. Colorado Ski and Snowboard Expo 2017

Date: November 10-12

This year marks the 26th annual Colorado Ski and Snowboard Expo produced by BEWI Productions, Inc., which was founded by Bernard E. Weichsel, a leader in successful ski and snow expos. Weichsel has put on expos since 1979 in over 15 cities, most notably in Denver and Boston.

The Colorado Ski and Snowboard Expo features a large marketplace of last season’s gear from Colorado Ski and Golf, that is discounted by as much as 40% to 60% when compared to their in-store prices. Gear includes: skis, boards, clubs, and much more! Resorts will also be offering great deals on season passes and lodging that you will only find at this expo. The expo also offers fun, interactive activities like climbing wall, slacklines, and a bull riding ring. Learning areas and the First Timer’s Center allow children and new skiers or riders to join in the fun as well.

2. Colorado State Thespians

Date: December 7-9

Thescon 2017 is coming to the Colorado Convention Center this December! It’s the 53rd Thespian Conference and one of the largest educational theatres in the nation.

The conference invites high school and middle school students from Colorado, Wyoming, and New Mexico to participate in individual events such as an Improv Showcase, technical challenges with lights and props, and a technical boot camp where students can attend seminars to improve their craft. There will also be auditions for the Colorado Senior University Audition scholarship. Attendees can also watch stage performances performed by school troupes. Colleges and universities will also attend the conference.

3. Denver Sportsmen’s Exposition

Date: January 11-14

The International Sportsmen’s Expos (ISE) has been around since 1975, bringing the latest in outdoor sportsman gear to the masses. This will be the 41st year the expo has been in Denver.

The Denver Sportsmen’s Exposition offers attendees an unparalleled marketplace of hunting, fishing, and other outdoor gear. More than 530 companies will exhibit their products ranging from hunting optics to ATVs. Lodges and resorts will also be offering exclusive package deals only available to expo participants. Other features of the expo include archery ranges, a fly-fishing pavilion, a Colorado Casting Contest, a Youth Fair with free activities for the kids, and plenty of other fun activities.

4. Outdoor Retailer + Snow Show

Date: January 25-28

Fore more than two decades, the industry-leading Outdoor Retailer trade show has called Salt Lake City their home. However, after negotiations with Utah officials fell through, the Denver City Council and leadership at the Colorado Convention Center leaped on the opportunity to bring the marquee event to Denver. The Outdoor Retailer + Snow Show is a major victory for the city and the convention center, with the bi-annual event estimated to bring in no fewer than 45,000 attendees with an investment by Outdoor Retailer well into the 8-figure range.

As the largest outdoor recreation expo and conference in the United States, the event is a paradise for outdoor enthusiasts, with innovative outdoor products, seminars, and networking for virtually every outdoor activity you can think of.

5. Colorado Garden & Home Show

Date: February 24-March 4

The Colorado Garden & Home Show is the oldest of its kind in Colorado, making it a well-respected and trusted conference for home and gardening inspiration. The show is also hosted on more than an acre of professional landscaping.

This show boasts more than 650-plus exhibitors–including popular companies like Sleep Number and DISH–will be offering their expertise on any gardening, landscaping, and various home improvement project ideas attendees bring up. The show will include 50 free seminars that include topics like how to improve your home on a budget, the best plants for your garden, why you should hire an interior designer, and more.
